Material

Our planter bags are some of the strongest, and longest lasting poly bags that you will find anywhere in the world! We use Virgin material resin with an average of 40% of the highest quality recycled material added – that is collected and recycled ‘in-house’ to maintain the best quality that we can. This bag also has METALLOCINE added for extra tear-resistance and toughness.

Contains quality UV stabilisers

Our 60 litre SQUAT Poly PB110 Planter Bag has a top quality UV additive. That way you can be confident they will last out in the harsh New Zealand climate. A big danger you may come across if you are buying inferior bags coming out of China is how quickly they break down in the New Zealand Sun!

Low Density Polyethylene

Made in Australia using a very High quality, Low Density Polyethylene plastic.

Bags won’t stick together

What does PB110 mean?

A Pint Bag (PB) unit represents a volume of measurement equaling around 570ml (1 Pint). PB units are often approximate and are an easy guide to plant bag volumes.

Bag Design

Our 60 litre SQUAT Poly PB110 Planter Bag contains 8mm drainage holes – 24 holes, 8 at the shoulder, and 16 at the sides, providing you with adequate drainage in a normal situation. You will find them easy to handle and move.

NOTE REGARDING THE SIZE APPEARANCE OF PLANTER BAGS

Some customers look at the bag when they receive them and think “This is the wrong bag… I ordered a bigger one!”

This listing gives the measurements of the bag laid out flat exactly as you received them. It also gives the ‘filled dimensions’.

If the bag you received looks smaller than you may have expected, use the lay flat measurements and check firstly that you have been sent the correct product.

If it measures correctly, but you still are unsure, you can use an online calculator to check the volume of the bag. To do this you need to enter the ‘filled’ bag dimensions, which appear above on this listing.

Once the bag is filled with potting mix, it should measure as follows (allowing for minor variations):

• 500mm diameter across the top (250mm Radius) and
• 325mm deep (height).

Search for a good online calculator to work out the volume of a cylinder. Follow the instructions on the online calculator; most will ask you to input either the diameter or radius and the height measurements.

After you have entered these measurements the volume will then appear.

• The volume should be approximately 64 litre or 63,813cm3.

Retail containers can often be misleading due to the marketing design features of the bottle. They are usually full of curves and narrow necks etc. Even a 9 litre water bucket is tapered and has a few indentations. In some cases, a small change to the measurements as a result of the ornate bottle can significantly impact the volume! You will also find that bottles and containers bought with drink or liquid inside are rarely filled to the top.
